TransCAP-TRANSITION CENTER FOR AIDS PREVENTION-SANTO DOMINGO

We are a non-profit, tax-exempt organization that aims to lessen the incidence of HIV infection, disease progression and unemployment among the young men and their young families of the Dominican Republic using contracted private medical facilities, condom distribution,
information on harm reduction philosophy and responsible safe-sex practices.

We help advance the understanding and awareness of the AIDS epidemic through community outreach and condom distribution, access to free medical testing, medicines and services, and provide job placement through business networking and incentives as well as one-on-one mentoring.

The TransCAP Foundation grew out of a busy private urban planning practice with a strong academic and project management background. AIDS prevention, STD and TB treatment are the central focus of the organization. We are a self-sustaining, independent operating entity with a full charitable tax exemption (501c3). All US donations are tax deductible. Other funding sources may include highly competitive government grants and industry-sponsored research contracts. TransCAP leadership is under the complete direction of a Board of Directors from the business and professional community.

TransCAP has assisted with health promotion programs to reduce the risk of acquiring HIV among the residents of the Los Angeles, CA and Atlanta, GA. Our Foundation has expanded internationally to meet the increasing need of foreign causes. TransCAP offers TB and STD testing, through private contracted off-site primary medical and HIV care, employment assessment, and critical life sustaining services, such as family issue development.
